Sorileth

Willful Sagebrush-Green Sorileth in Streaked Marble Egg
In the infertile soil of the high desert land, swept by the strong winds, sagebrush is one of the few to flourish. That heathery, deep silver-green shade softens the strong, willful lines of this fledgling from high-held muzzle down to brown-taloned paws; as she moves, each foot is firmly planted in an attempt to compensate for hatchling awkwardness. She's compactly built, more solid than slender, but with sleek lines; long tendrils of darker green feather lightly up her flanks in highlight, extending to the reach of powerfully-built wings.

Name: Sorileth is from Sorilea, in the Wheel of Time series. Sorilea is an Aiel wisewoman. Aiel are very hardy, touchy folks: warriors with odd senses of humor. She doesn't want to be called Sori, btw. :)

Physically, Sorileth's the heathery, deep silver-green shade of sagebrush, with brown-taloned paws. A few long tendrils of darker green feather lightly up her flanks in highlight, extending to the reach of powerfully-built wings; that's the only color variation she's got. She has a compact build, more solid than slender, but is sleek rather than coarse; this will give her endurance and some measure of agility (though of course as a hatchling she's quite awkward). Think a Quarter Horse as opposed to an Arabian or a Thoroughbred; she can handle the strong winds. She itches underneath her chin, and at the base of her jaw.

As for personality, Sorileth is steady but not sedate. She's no-nonsense, even prickly, managing the harshest droughts with her own deep-rooted natureā€¦ gets her back up at too much foolishness, but still playful at times, and you're her biggest soft spot. She finds him utterly endearing; you'll soften her, she'll focus you. For example, she doesn't understand why you likes flirting so much, but she's crazy about you anyway. Challenging, loyal, very practical. Very demanding of you :) and won't stand for any guff. (Oh, and instead of being flirty when she's proddy, she just gets /really/ demanding of all the males around. :) ) There's also a piquant, sagebrushy note to her smell.
